The Elbrus Trio:
The Elbrus Trio is a vibrant, imaginative ensemble renowned for their sensitive approach to music and interest in performing underrepresented music. Having had their debut concert in 2024 at Smith Square Hall the trio has gone on to perform regularly across the UK and study with leading
ensembles including the Fidelio Trio, the Gould Trio and Trio Karenine. Prior to forming in 2024 all three members had worked together closely during their studies at the Royal Northern College of Music with violinist: Samy Okuma-Chin, and cellist: Stefan Rogers continuing their studies together at the Royal Academy of Music.
The trio strives to explore and promote the music of composers whose music is rarely seen on concert platforms. Notable examples of this work include trios by: Mel Bonis, Boris Tchaikovsky and Cecil Chaminade. Most recently the trio has been exploring the music of French composer and
conductor, Emmanuel Rhene-Baton, whose music uniquely combines the impressionist music of composers like Debussy and Ravel, with the Celtic music of his native Brittany.

The Elbrus Trio has in recent years made a name for themselves exploring and sharing rarely played masterpieces. In their festival debut concert discover Cécile Chaminade's wonderous A minor Piano Trio alongside the piece that launched Beethoven's career. Then in the 2nd half they'll be joining forces with two fellow graduates of the RNCM for a performance of possibly Antonin Dvorak's greatest work of chamber music, his 2nd Piano Quintet.
